Permaculture

The concept of “Permaculture” refers to the practice of agriculture permanently, according to the definition described by Bill Mollinson: “Permaculture (Permanent Agriculture) is the conscious design and maintenance of productive agricultural ecosystems, which have diversity, stability and resistance of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of the landscape and people producing food, energy, shelter and other needs and not materials in a sustainable way. ”

It is also a generic term for the application of universal ethics and principles of ecological design in planning, development, maintenance, organization and preservation of a habitat capable of maintaining itself in a self-sustainable way. Within this way of life, renewable energies and the implementation of material cycles are integrated in the sense of a sustainable and moderate use of resources at an ecological, economic and social level.

The care of the land means taking care of living and non-living beings: such as forests, soils, species and their varieties, the atmosphere, micro-habitats, animals and water, which implies the performance of harmless activities and rehabilitative, active conservation and ethical use of resources. All actions have to be organized so that ecosystems are suctantially intact and able to function healthily.

In the ecological habitat the lives of human beings are united in a respectful and beneficial way with that of animals, plants, insects, and other living beings that inhabit the ecosystem, with the intention of providing the needs of all of a proper, orderly and prudent manner. Permaculture is a key tool for the future.
